Way of Water

Focus Rollout 2025, Zurich

Way of Water is an installation developed by the Institute for Dynamical Systems and Control at ETH Zurich. The project showcases a fleet of compact, autonomous surface vehicles designed for coordinated aquatic motion and light-based visual displays.

At the Focus Rollout 2025 in Zurich, the team presented Way of Water as a live robotic performance, reinterpreting Swan Lake through synchronized motion and light on water. Carefully coordinated formations translated the rhythm and atmosphere of the classical piece into a shared visual experience, while continuing to demonstrate the project’s research in robotics and safe autonomous operation in public spaces.
